This is sort of an tribute to the generations of Italian lamp workers that have come before me.  When you get to the island of Murano, you will see a ton pressed beads capturing gold or silver foil.  Many jewelry makers are using the mass produced beads in jewelry selling here in the United States. 

Rather than go with the machine look of that technique, I preferred the look of a free flowing glass like design that still showed off the gold in all of it's glory.
